Establishment teeth

We have seen every excuse under the sun for why we can’t ever remove any foreign national from our nation. No matter what the crime. The vilest sex offenders, the mass murderers, Islamic terrorists, fraudsters, no matter what they have done, we cannot remove foreign people from our shores. It’s against their human rights.

Unless they have something to say about Israel and Palestine that doesn’t fit the narrative, that’s the rumoured threat coming from Westminster.

Almost overnight, we have seen our toothless, forever-placating government grow some fangs and start to push for removing anyone deemed anti-semitic.

Yes, that’s exactly right. We will potentially deport foreign men for opinions against Israel, but never when they harm our children in Rotherham, Telford, and Rochdale. We could have overseas students removed for supporting Hamas but not people who come across on boats illegally. We can’t keep these unknowns locked down; they can wander the streets. Our government would have no standards if they didn’t have double standards.

We are even at the stage where people in the media, in the seats of power and on the street are calling out Humza Yousaf for talking about his in-laws who are in Gaza. Very few in politics had a word to say when he openly criticised ‘White’ people for having all the top jobs in Scotland. No one had a go at him when he talked about strengthing ties with Pakistan. But now everyone feels emboldened to needle him, telling him not to personalise the conflict. He isn’t allowed to do that, but it’s OK if Rachel Riley does it on Twitter. There’s even a row developing here in Scotland because Holyrood isn’t flying the Israel flag.

It’s also incredible to see people noticing that multiculturalism and multiracialism don’t work. Everyone seems energised to defend the Jews or the Muslims in this conflict overseas, yet they also notice that the same thing is reflected here. They see Muslims everywhere coming out in support of Palestine and the Jewish community rallying around Israel. Being British is conditional and can change from situation to situation. Fancy that? People who didn’t want to see this before cannot ignore this divide. The people on both sides are not us. They don’t see themselves as us when it matters, only when it suits them. This is now a new fact for a lot of people.

The sad thing is that our people taking sides in this conflict are more than happy to weigh in on what’s happening in the Middle East. But these same people will remain silent and afraid to talk openly about what happens to our people on our shores. They will get emotional and invested in the plight of foreign people, but they won’t get involved in their politics to sort out the problems in our nation. They will demand that people be removed from our country on Twitter now it’s deemed “safe” to do so, but they won’t spend an hour or two a month at a community council meeting to stop migrant hotels or drag queen story hour.

We at the Homeland Party are taking our side. The internal struggles of Israel and Palestine are their problem. We owe neither side anything and have staggeringly significant issues to deal with here, in our homelands. We are seeing the willingness of the state to act when it suits and threatens to remove people on one side of this conflict. So, we know the power and the will to remove people from our nation is there if the government doesn’t want them here. We won’t stop until that power is used for the benefit of our people, not people in a faraway land.
