This saga has been going on for years now; the much talked about, over-hyped, over-budget, high-speed rail link that will revolutionise transport, HS2. This project is a rarity since we seldom see our government putting in plans for something on a grand scale. However, when you know who benefits and what the priorities are, it becomes another corruption-fueled money trough for ministers and their pals.
The budget on this project has gone through the roof. as with seemingly every project with government funding behind it. The initial cost was estimated at £32 billion, which is alarming considering we already have rail links, airports, roads, etc. The average person doesn’t need this. Nor are they meant to be using it. HS2 will be for the business class types, not the working class.
This is why no one has seemed overly concerned that costs are now projected at around £56 billion. That’s £56,000,000,000. We could’ve upgraded numerous lines already in existence for that money. But instead, it’s all funnelled into a project for the elites while the rest of us put up with sardine class. But clearly, the people in charge do not care.
Nor do they care about the environmental damage caused by these plans. They’re cutting a massive, broad line straight through everything they come across. Ancient woodland, habitats, and wetlands must be eradicated to make way for neo-liberal progress.
The Green party must struggle with this one since they care about the environment (only when it presents an opportunity to virtue signal); however, they’ll be more than happy to sit on a completed HS2 and thumb their nose at the motorist while they take “public transport” to some sustainability conference. But the damage done to our countryside is extensive from this new railway. The cost is not just in pound sterling.
Another massive issue with this project is the delays. Much like the cost, these are never discussed in the initial plans, but everyone expects them. Why do delays hamper projects like this? And when did it become acceptable for people to charge over the odds and under-deliver when public money is flowing?
HS2 Ltd, the group failing to construct this railway, has a 52-page report published on its website. Fifty-two pages of equality and diversity drivel. This report shows how amazing they are because of how many people they hire outside the ‘White male’ bracket. They are pleased to say that, on average, 24% of their workforce is from a minority ethnic background, above their corporate target. Wow. And 44% of promotions were female. Amazing. But you can’t seem to build a railway.
This is a massive issue, and this company is chucking resources down the toilet to accommodate women, the LGBTs and ‘non-White’ workers rather than just getting the best people for the job. They are obsessing over diversity targets while their railway almost doubles in cost. This is a priority for them since it’s all endless taxpayer money. They go into detail about how they celebrate Diwali, Stephen Lawrence Day, South Asian Heritage Month, Black History Month, etc., as well as a myriad of days, weeks and months for various LGBT awareness projects.
They also wax lyrical about how much money (our money) they spend on buying from minority-owned businesses. In that grouping, they include women. In total, £123.7 million has been spent on female-owned companies. And this is somehow a priority.
The report goes on and on. Essentially, they are foaming at the mouth to tell you how hard they’re working to sideline those it categorises as ‘white men’ from the workforce, but we all know that they mean discriminating against English, Scottish and Welsh men. According to the Telegraph newspaper, they have a report about tunnelling costs, which is just 12 pages long.
The priorities are clear. This railway isn’t for the working class. The people building it don’t care about the English working class. The cherished environment of this nation is not a priority either. This is just a vanity project of gross proportions that’s haemorrhaging public money in diversity quotas and developers’ pockets.
That brings me to a final point about this shambles of a project. The northern routes look set to be cancelled due to costs spiralling. And the politicians “up north” are up in arms about this. “How can the Tories do this?” “We need the transport links extended up north to link us with the south!” etc. No, they’re just annoyed that their friends in the construction industry aren’t getting their greedy hands on the taxpayer’s money. That’s the real issue. The gravy train has stopped, and they’ve not had a piece of it.
This entire fiasco’s greed, corruption and downright anti-White nature is sickening. For our people to have this monstrous, business-class convenience smashing through our countryside is a disgrace. To have the company building it be obsessed with critical race theory. And then to make us fund it all, no matter the cost, it’s another wake-up call for the people who call these isles their homeland.
We deserve better.
The Homeland Party knows that big projects are essential. Indeed, we need to see more of them, considering what our nation can create. However, they deliberately sideline the English working class and accept massive cost rises to do them without concern for the environment. Delays this is not good enough, not for the nation or its people.
It’s time for a government that will do things properly. For the good of the people. For the interest of the land. We should not accept this third-rate, shoddy excuse for governance much longer.
