Last month, our North East Scotland Branch Organiser and long-standing activist Dave Gardner uncovered a planning application seeking a change of use for Lochbank Manor, a former residential care facility in his hometown of Forfar.
Recognising immediately what this could lead to, housing hundreds of illegal immigrants, Dave raised the alarm locally. Support came quickly — and so did predictable hostility from a handful of left-wing voices, including a disgraced former head teacher. The smears were ignored.
Instead of backing down, Dave organised.
He launched Concerned Residents Forfar, a Facebook group that gained 500 members overnight and now stands at over 1,600. A public meeting followed, drawing dozens of residents who were far more interested in protecting their town than listening to lazy insults. The result was clear: locals stood together and agreed to oppose the application.
The group went on to design and distribute its own leaflets and posters, with volunteers delivering nearly 10,000 across the area. In total, 650 formal objections were submitted to the local authority. A decision was due on 11 January and is still pending.
This is what real community action looks like.
At the Homeland Party, we don’t rely on online noise or virtue-signalling lectures. We work on the ground, in our towns, with ordinary people who care about where they live. While our critics shout, we organise. While they sneer, we deliver.
Quietly. Consistently. Effectively.
