Since the news broke on Friday that a male BBC personality had allegedly requested explicit pictures from a then teenager in return for cash, many people have asked publicly, why his name has not been released.
According to the old faithful “source” the answer is complicated and would invoke editorial and legal issues. It has to be said that at the moment it isn’t known if any laws have been broken, the content of the pictures in question will dictate this.
BBC bosses say the man has been suspended and are now conducting an investigation.
Alex Chalk the justice secretary has said it is in the public’s interest to know who this individual is.
No doubt we shall find out in due course who the culprit is, there will be the aforementioned investigation, an inquest or some such like and perhaps a parliamentary hearing.
