Human trafficking kingpin.

A recent arrest by a European wide task-force has shown the extent of how well-organised and intricate the migration scandal into the UK is. An Iranian asylum seeker who sought refuge in Britain is now facing trial in Belgium on charges of being a human trafficking kingpin.

While taking full advantage of the UK taxpayer, the accused individual allegedly played a significant role in facilitating the perilous journey of thousands of migrants across the English Channel while trying to seek asylum for himself.

This event highlights how well-funded and organised these traffickers are, knowing that our nation’s government is too limp-wristed to make any concrete moves to stop or deter this operation.

Hewa Rahimpur, 30, is alleged to have been a ‘leading person’ in a criminal gang that sourced small boats from Turkey and organised their storage in Germany, Belgium and the Netherlands before using them to transport migrants across the Channel.

The accused, who had lived in Ilford, was arrested in May last year at the start of a European-wide police operation that confiscated 135 boats, 1,200 life jackets and thousands of Euros in cash, and 40 arrests. Rahimpur is one of 21 now facing trial in Bruges over alleged ties to the gang, with the other 20 registered as having lived in Germany.

Like countless men worldwide, this Iranian man has packed up and left their home country to travel through multiple safe European ones, deciding where to seek asylum. Most have their sights set on the UK as they have been told by those who came before them that it is a land of milk and honey, ready to be exploited.

He initially appeared to be just another asylum seeker. Still, while seeking so-called asylum for himself, he was simultaneously involved in orchestrating the dangerous journeys of thousands of migrants from France to the UK.

This has to be one of the first positive migration stories I have heard in the last few years. Belgium has taken centre stage for this arrest and deserves the credit.

Belgium is a key transit point for economic migrants attempting to reach the UK via the English Channel. The Belgian authorities have been working tirelessly to disrupt human trafficking networks operating within their borders.

The accused Iranian was arrested and subsequently charged with being a key player in a human trafficking ring that seeks to profit from the UK’s inaction to stop mass immigration.

What will the end goal of this migration crisis be? At this stage, we have migrants from all parts of the world, including the Middle East, North Africa, and South Asia. We are a small island with limited resources, and we can’t continue to maintain this level of people entering our asylum system.

The crisis has escalated to unprecedented levels, with record numbers of economic migrants now attempting to cross. According to reports, in 2021, over 25,000 people tried to cross the English Channel, marking a significant increase from previous years.

The Homeland Party would take steps to reduce illegal immigration through all routes. This could involve stricter security measures along the coast and increased surveillance to deter unauthorised border crossings. The party would also push for policies to address the root causes of migration, such as political instability in other countries, to decrease the number of people attempting to enter the country illegally.

We will not provide any hotels to accommodate thousands of young men. Instead, we will send them back to France and surrounding countries, firmly stating that our citizens demand secure and safe borders for our country.
