Poland to hold “illegal immigrant” referendum

Poland’s ruling party wants to ask voters in a referendum whether they support accepting “thousands of illegal immigrants from the Middle East and Africa.”

Prime Minister Mateusz Morawiecki announced the referendum question in a video published on social media at the weekend.

The video contains images of burning cars and violence on the streets of Western Europe.

The announcement comes off the back of the European Union’s relocation plan for migrants entering Europe. It comes as Morawiecki and his conservative Law and Justice party bid to be reelected in the upcoming parliamentary elections. Their migration policy was seen as key in them taking power in 2015.

Poland hosts more than a million Ukrainian refugees, who are primarily East Slavic and Eastern Orthodox. Still, officials have long made clear that they consider Muslims and others from different cultures to be a threat to the nation’s cultural identity and security.

The proposed referendum question will say, “Do you support the admission of thousands of illegal immigrants from the Middle East and Africa under the forced relocation mechanism imposed by the European bureaucracy?”

The Poles are quite right to put their collective foot down here. As stated above, Poland already houses in the region of 1.5 million displaced Ukrainians, so they rightfully feel they have done their part on the refugee front. However, we all know that this is never enough for the bureaucrats in Brussels and liberal elites that litter the halls of power around the world.

Europe is a mere 6.8% of the earth’s landmass and just over 9% of the world’s population. The question we would like to ask these people is simply, “When does it end, and how many millions of migrants is Europe expected to take year on year?” They couldn’t give you a straight answer; they wouldn’t dare.
