Nigerian senator jailed for organ harvesting

A wealthy Nigerian politician, his wife and a doctor have been jailed for nine, four and ten years respectively by a court in London. They were found guilty of trafficking a 21-year-old man from Lagos to the UK for the purpose of illegally harvesting his kidney for a transplant for their seriously ill daughter.

Ike Ekweremadu, his wife Beatrice, and doctor Obinna Obeta were all convicted in March of conspiring to arrange travel of a man in order to harvest his organ.
Prosecutors said the couple had brought the man to the UK in February last year with the offer of a few thousand pounds for his kidney and the promise of work in the UK.
The transplant didn’t take place when staff at the London Royal Free Hospital grew suspicious about the circumstances surrounding the proposed donor who the Ekweremadu’s tried to pass off as their nephew.

It’s safe to say the Homeland Party utterly condemns people trafficking and organ harvesting. The fact these practices find themselves on our shores shows a worrying trend of the lowering of moral standards in the name of western liberal values.
We do wonder what possesses people to think they can fool NHS consultants in such a way.
